Dr. Darrell Harvey, Ph.D.
PRESIDENT'S PROFILE
Darrell Harvey, PhD is president of Ascendant Leadership and Change Group, a consulting firm that provides organizational consulting and training services to public, private, and non-profit organizations. He has over 25 years of experience providing organizational development, education/training, and human resources research services to organizations. This work has included organizational assessment and change, leadership development/executive coaching, team improvement, conflict management, strategic planning, design and validation of personnel selection and performance management systems, and workforce diversity efforts. It has also included extensive development and delivery of training programs in such areas as leadership, coaching, conflict management, team effectiveness, policy analysis, customer service, communication, organizational assessment, critical thinking, project management, etc.

Consulting Engagements
Multiple large and small scale organizational assessment and change efforts in public, quasi-public, and private sector organizations, coaching and feedback workshops for federal agency managers, partnership development and conflict management services for private sector strategic partnerships, a variety of leadership development and team effectiveness engagements for public sector managers and executives, and the design, administration, analysis, and results reporting for employee survey, focus group, and interview data gathering efforts
Prior to starting his own practice, Dr. Harvey spent over eight years providing internal consulting, training/development, and human resources research services at leading private sector firms such as, Merrill Lynch (senior research manager) and The Prudential (senior organizational consultant). These experiences included organizational assessment (surveys, focus groups, interviews), performance management processes and techniques, design and validation of personnel selection systems, organizational change efforts, workforce diversity, etc.
Darrell’s career has included having served as Senior Fellow/Adjunct Faculty at George Washington University’s Center for Excellence in Public Leadership for approximately twenty years. This work included serving as a core faculty member in the Center's Certificate in Public Management programs, developing and conducting leadership simulations for federal and municipal managers, and providing oversight for action learning projects in which teams of managers conduct year-long policy analyses of pressing public policy issues.
Dr. Harvey holds Ph.D. and Master of Science degrees in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with Highest Honors from Hampton Institute (now known as Hampton University).
